July 4th at Gram & Pappa's

For the 4th of July, Zade and Caitlin came to Mountain Home to hang out for the weekend. Heather and Ken brought Tate and the twins from Salt Lake to stay for the week while Heather and Ken went to Hawaii. Uncle Dick and Aunt Virginia surprised us with a visit and also came to stay. Jason and Ashlie came and visited with Jalie and Kylie. The house has been pretty chaotic with all the kids and people but we have had a lot of fun. The kids have been playing a lot outside and loving it. Last night we did sparklers and made smores. After ice cream cones and smores it is official that the twins have NEVER had that much sugar, and it was all under Gram's watchful eye!!!

We just wanted to tell Ashlie to get feeling better! She had her surgery on her foot last week. Mom and dad have been watching the girls at the house for a few days. It sounds like they are loving having them there! We hope to see Jason & Ashlie in Salt Lake for her follow up appointment if she is up to it! Again..ASHLIE WE LOVE YOU AND HOPE YOU GET BETTER!

This weekend we were at the parents house. Heather, Scott and Sunny drove with the twins to Mountain Home. We had a good weekend hanging out and going to Jalie's birthday party. But the most memorable part was Kallee's quote. We were all sitting around the living room and someone said I think Kallee stinks. Heather was holding Jakob on the couch because he wasn't feeling well. Heather kept asking Kallee if she went poop. Kalle kept right on playing and was ignoring her. Finally Heather asked Kallee to come over to where she was. Kallee went over and put her elbows on the arm of the chair. Heather asked several times if she had gone poop. Finally Kallee said "What you talkin about". Oh my gosh we all were laughing so hard. Kallee just looked at us like we were silly. The things kids say!

half marathon

Well...I survived my first half marathon! 13.1 miles of hell! I was feeling really good at mile ten but shortly after, my back started having spasms. I found myself on the lawn of some guy's house trying to work out the spasm. Then...my feet swelled up so my big toes were rubbing against the front of my shoes. My right toenail turned black and will most certainly fall off later.

But....
The weather was perfect and the trail was beautiful...it wound around several Saint George golf courses. Some of the houses we passed were enormous! I was inspired by the many people along the trail holding up signs cheering on Dad, Mom, Granny, brothers and sisters etc. It was very gratifying to cross the finish line and to find my beautiful wife waiting for me at the end.

As I was finishing I thought that this must be how it will be in the hereafter. We run this race we call life. There are good things and bad along the way. When we cross the finish line, we will be greeted by those we love and that is all that really matters. I was very emotional and couldn't even talk for a few minutes. I am sore and as of now, I am saying "never again" but time will tell. Already I am forgetting the bad and remembering the good!

CEDAR CITY — The threat of getting kicked out of school for fighting sparked a lifelong love of wrestling that transcended the Green River high school gym boundaries for Jerry Womack.

“It was a fluke,” the 48-year-old Cedar City Police detective sergeant said of his beginnings in the sport. “My principal said you either join the wrestling team or I’ll kick you out.”

The ultimatum paid off in the end, as Womack went on to become the wrestling team captain his senior year with a 27-2 record 30 years ago.

It paid off even more as the sport later encompassed his family and became a hobby he still enjoys today as an assistant coach for the Canyon View wrestling team.
Canyon View High, Cedar High and Iron Town Duels Wrestling Tournament honored Womack for his dedication Saturday afternoon during the tournament with the Iron Town Duels Service Award. Womack’s family, along with 11 different teams and dozens of community members and coaches, cheered on as he received a plaque in the Canyon View High gym.

“I’d say he’s ornery,” Womack’s oldest son, Zade Womack, 23, joked about his father.

“But at least he’s consistent,” Womack’s mother Clydene Womack chimed in, laughing.

Zade Womack started wrestling at age five, with his dad as his mentor as he continued the sport in high school, he said.

Jerry Womack started his children off as soon as they could, coaching a little league club team at Cedar High School before Canyon View even existed, he said.
The little league wrestlers traveled all over the state, and Womack’s parents said they missed very few matches of their son or even their grandchildren.

“We would travel with him all over,” Clydene Womack said. “I was a wrestling mom – the real soccer mom.”

“Once there was this terrible referee and he didn’t even leave from the front door. He snuck into the locker room, didn’t even take his things and sped off in his car. He knew I was going to lynch him. I was off the bleachers and on the mat during that match. (My husband) was always embarrassed of me,” she laughed.

This passion passed on to Jerry Womack as he helped his six children when they joined their respective sports, but wrestling was always No. 1.

“Wrestling is the best sport to teach discipline,” he said. “It’s one-on-one so you can’t rely on anybody to help you. You can’t go into it half-hearted – you have to give it your all, whole-heartedly, if you want to come out on top.”

Christmas at the Womack House was quiet. Zade was unable to make it down because of the severe snowstorm. Dane and Steph spent most of the holiday with her folks in Saint George. Had a good time with just me and the girls. Ate way too much food and just enjoyed each others company!

Merry Christmas! We had such a great Christmas. Sunny, Scott, Heather, Ken and the twins and mom and dad were all here for Christmas. Christmas Eve we spent the evening with Chad and Rae and the kids for their party. We played the present game and ate TONS of great food! Jason and Ashlie came over and Rae's parents. We had a lot of fun. Christmas day the kids woke us all up and we started to open presents. It took them a while to get use to the idea since they would see one toy and just play with that instead of opening any others. Here are pictures and video from our Christmas. We missed the rest of you and hope next year we can all do something together for either Thanksgiving or Christmas!

The Womacks

Hi,
Nothin much going on here at the Womack house. I'm vain so I wanted to brag on myself a little.

Last summer we started an office "The Biggest Loser" competition. We pooled our money and started out...anywho...I won nearly $100.00 by losing 50 pounds. So...to accomplish this, I needed motivation. Some co-workers talked me into running 5K races. We made a goal of running in 5 different 5K races through out the summer. Last weekend, I ran in my 7th race and posted my best time so far (which isn't really that great.) But....I finished 31st place overall out of over 150 runners.

Well were married! It honestly doesn't feel any different though. We had a great time in Tennesee and visited a few other states as well. Can't wait to see all of you in the next few weeks.

I also wanted to thank you guys for going to Jr. Laulu's funeral. We wanted more than anything to be there so it meant a lot to me that you went.

Saturday morning was Sunnys bridal shower here in the mountains. We had a house full. A real good turn out. They got alot of nice things to have a good start being married. We drove over to Stevensons Lodge to get a good look into the yurt. I think it will turn out great! We're excited to have Nov get here and have Mr. & Mrs. Scott Nielson in the family. I'm learning about the blog so everyone be patience with me. I'll get it sooner or later. Thanks to Sunny and her willingness to help me.

Is it Thursday yet? What a weekend. Scott and I were busy babysitting Sai and Kalani while Sulika spent time at the hospital. We talked to Dad on the phone and he is sick with a cold. Mom and Dad were going to come to Salt Lake on Tuesday and hang out until Thursday to go to Dane's wedding. It doesn't sound like they will make it if Dad still feels icky.
Dad said that Jason and Chad cut and hauled wood to the house this weekend for the fireplace! Thanks! I wish we would have known and we could have tried to help. I am releived though that it is done.
I babysat Kalle and Jakob on Friday at my apartment. They are so good and we had fun playing with Mr. Potato Head and eating cheerios (the only "crackers" I had in the house). The kids are growing up and are so cute!
I am excited for Dane and Stephanie's wedding this weekend! I hope my dress arrives in time! Well I have no more updates because its seems like I never get to actually talk to very many of you. Miss and love you all... not that anyone is actually reading this. (tear)

East Canyon

Scott and I went to East Canyon this weekend to camp. We had a great time. His birthday is Tuesday so this is what he chose to do. I gave him a camping table that I think he really will use. I fell twice this weekend but you have to read my blog for those details. I am a severe klutz.

Weekend in Price

This weekend Scott, Zade and I went to Price to watch Sai for Sulika. Instead we helped Sulika and Scott cater a marathon. Scott M. ran the marathon and we helped get all the food ready and served. It turned out really well. I found out my car goes really fast... I won't say how fast as I do not want to incriminate myself. We had two rice cookers and one wasn't working so I drove to Walmart in Price to buy three more. What a day!

Sulika took our engagement pictures yesterday. I think they turned out good. We babysat Sai while she and Scott visited with Jr. last night. He seems to be doing somewhat better but still really sick.

Zade is headed to Elko this morning for work and then off to Reno later in the week. A whole week out of town, he should make some good money. Thanks again Zade for helping us this weekend!

A word to the family.....

Updates......Zade found a job. He is working with Scott's friend Josh doing roofing. I think he likes it. But I don't know for sure because he hasn't blogged about it..(burn!)
Dane is getting married on Oct 3rd. I know nothing else except Zade and I are going to try and leave Thursday night after work and go to Cedar. Scott has to work Friday so he will come to Cedar as soon as he gets off work. I need something to wear to that thing!
Mom and Dad are doing well at home. Grandma's house got a stinky skunk going on but it sounds like they fixed it by putting some sort of foundation around the house????? Again not 100% sure on the details there.
Mom and dad are talking about coming to Salt Lake for a week after Dane's wedding for Sunny's (that is me) bridal shower. I hope they do, it would be nice to have them here.
Scott is good. He has not injured himself in the last few weeks. His house hasn't sold and its about to drive us crazy. Life goes on.
The Klinglers are good too. I went to lunch with Heather, Kallee and Jakob. They are quite the adventure and to make a long story short, Jakob's foot ended up in my plate. Don't worry I ate it off the table.
Lets see haven't heard from Jason & Ashlie in quite a while. I hear the baby is just getting so big.
I don't know much about Chad & Rae either. I am sure Ash and Jackson are super busy with school.
The Womacks are always super busy and now with the wedding probably double time.
And just as a side note, Sulika's dad, Jr. isn't doing too well. He is in the hospital and they are trying to get him better. He has been really weak after his last chemo treatment. It sucks.
To end on a better note, I miss you all and wish you would write some quick updates on this thing. Come on its for prosperity....I think.

I think fall might be here. At least yesterday and today feel like it. I am sitting here in my office, my nose running and my fingers numb. I am sure tomorrow I will have the fan on.
